Introduction:
I am Sylvia. I am a CPIM with APICS and started my career with Nestlé (previously Rowntree) in the planning department. During my time with the company, I designed, tested, and implemented an Advanced Master Production Schedule, which served to manage FG inventory at optimum level, for a factory of over 2000 employees, (At the time it was the largest Nestlé factory worldwide) taking into account the extremely seasonal demand, during which there was also the annual Factory Shutdown. The successful APMS output being the Build Schedule, using built-in rough cut capacity formulae. which served as the demand for MRP resulting in stable MRP output which in turn avoided the extensive rescheduling of jobs and purchase orders that are so often caused by unstable demand. In addition to this, the need for detailed factory scheduling was drastically reduced, simplified, and efficient. By doing a good job at managing finished goods level all jobs and purchase orders fall neatly into place.
In addition have over 20 years of experience in implementing and supporting SYSPRO ERP software with multiple customers, with my main focus being on Manufacturing and Distribution and designing solutions for unique requirements in those and other areas. During this time, I provided Master Production Scheduling advice and, in some cases, wrote specifications and worked with a developer to create an MPS Solution for various customers.

Most memorable project and why:
In China, where I was doing some work for a client, and working many long hours. On my first day off I hired a taxi to go to the beach to swim in the Yellow Sea. I did not realize at the time that I needed cash to pay for the taxi, so there was a mad scramble to get the cash from a nearby auto teller machine. I eventually found a machine that allowed the withdrawal of sufficient funds in local currency. I’m not sure who was more relieved, the taxi driver or me! On my return trip to my hotel, the young taxi driver tried to teach me some Chinese without too much success!
