Introduction:
As a Chartered Professional Accountant, I help companies automate and streamline their processes by analyzing and documenting current processes. I specialize in helping employers implement and test new accounting software systems. As a senior finance professional with over 20 years experience and expertise in strategy, project implementation, process improvements, accounting, and analytics, I bring a well-rounded knowledge base to every project I work on. One of my key strengths is my ability to work well with all levels in an organization which helps keep projects on time and on budget.
Core competencies:
Software implementations – includes creating and managing implementation plans, configuring systems, creating new procedures, testing, and validating functionality and training users. I have worked with many different solutions and most recently with Sage Intacct, Sage X3, QuickBooks, Navision, and Prophix.
Business improvements – includes analyzing, streamlining, and automating current processes, documenting new processes and procedures and training users.
Industry Experience:
I have experience in the manufacturing, retail, and service industries. Examples include forestry, floor heating, coffee decaffeination, cannabis, athletic apparel and accessories and the arts, in privately held, family owned, publicly traded and not for profit companies.
Most memorable project and why:
One of my most recent memorable projects was with a cannabis company. It was at a time where recreational cannabis was just becoming legalized. The organization started as a small publicly held company that then purchased multiple companies. They were implementing Sage X3. I assisted with the implementation of financial operating models for 13 different companies, including GL, AR, and AP, from design to testing to training, to go-live to stabilization and enhancements. I also supported manufacturing implementations for a grow facility and an edibles manufacturing process.
Who is your favourite superhero, and why?
I would have to say Spiderman. The cartoon had a catchy tune that I remember from my youth. “Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can. Spins a web, any size, Catches thieves just like flies. Look Out! Here comes the Spider-Man.”
